Client Assistance

Our Probation Office realizes that many of you who release from custody after paying your debt, come home with big goals and dreams to make things right again, yet so many things and people have changed and in some ways left you behind while you were gone.  Though we want you to grow stronger by working through much of it with personal effort and support of family and friends, we also know you will likely need some information, guidance, support, and resources from others trained to work with your unique needs and challenges.   We call it a "hand up" not a hand out.  It will require real courage and effort on your part to ensure the assistance stretches you toward becoming more of the self-sufficient, responsible, and contributing citizen we know you can be.

With the above in mind, this portion of our website will give you access to many sites, information, resources, and contacts in the areas of community resources, family assistance, release preparation and reentry, special populations, and treatment information.  The goal is to give you easier and direct access to services and resources needed for a successful reentry and supervision experience with the U.S. Probation Office.  It includes help with needs like housing, food, treatment, financial assistance, special programs, etc.  Use them liberally.  None of us are above needing a helping hand from others at times to make it through this life.

Also, an excellent clearinghouse of information and help can be found at USA.gov and GobiernoUSA.gov,  the official web portals of the U.S. Government, which provides helpful information on how to find government agencies, get help, access services and benefits, etc.  You can also sign up for the e-mail updates at these links USA.gov and GobiernoUSA.gov.  Lastly, for access to resources and government services specific to Texas, go to  Texas211.org and Texas.gov respectively, as well as Texas online government forms.
