The LITE-UP TEXAS program is designed to help qualified low-income individuals reduce the monthly cost of electric service. To qualify for discounts, the customer must either be currently receiving Medicaid or food stamps, and/or have a household income at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.  They are providing help for the May, June, July, August and September 2012 bills.   

Many times we run into situation where just being able to meet basic needs of us and our families seems out of reach.  Simple things like a place to live, transportation, and food can be a challenge when you are new out of custody, or out of work.
