Clothing

Many local churches and charities make themselves available in limited capacities to provide clothing assistance to individuals and families.  They are usually based on priority (cold weather clothing, basics like undergarments, children's clothing, job interview attire, etc.), as well as, verifiable need which includes income, family size and/or possible help from family or other local resources.

Also access the resource database for possible clothing assistance organizations in your area.

Possible local sources can include:  area Churches and house of worship, Salvation Army, Area Thrift Stores and Resale Shops, etc.

Dallas:  locally there is a great women-only program opportunity at Attitudes and Attire located at the World Trade Center at 2050 S. Stemmons Fwy, Suite 181, Dallas.  They require participation in a great half-day training class before access to the free clothing is granted.  There contact number is 214-630-1667

Worksource of Dallas County (TWC) continues their partnership with Men's Wearhouse allowing one nice suit or similar outfit for anyone who works through them, and secures a verifiable interview.  The clothing is stored at their Southwest service location on Westmoreland Rd., and their TWC staff member will make the referral from any one of their 4 sites in Dallas county.

City of Dallas Project ReConnect is designed just for ex-offenders assisting them in all areas of reintegration including housing, jobs, clothing, etc.

Other means of assistance can be found at Texas 211 by entering you location (city or town), and list "clothing" or "thrift" in the category of needed services.
